Raise a Big Fish
Big Fish is a QQ chat playbook in the Lumoswitch desktop client. The sidebar navigation is Playbooks. Some controls in the QQ setup and pairing panels may still appear in Chinese; this guide explains the actions in English and shows the actual Chinese button text where it helps.
After setup, choose Save and connect QQ (保存并连接 QQ); the client saves the settings and attempts to connect. Group chat and memory are optional.
Create, save, and connect
Before you start, make sure Models has at least one available chat model configuration. If the model list is empty, add or enable a chat configuration in Models, then return to Playbooks.
- Open Lumoswitch and select Playbooks in the sidebar, then choose Raise a Big Fish.
- The default name is Big Fish; you can change it. Select a model and review its pricing. A test chat makes one model call and may incur a charge, but it does not send a message to QQ.
- If you do not have a QQ bot yet, expand How do I create a QQ bot? (如何创建 QQ 机器人?) in the form and use Open QQ Open Platform (打开 QQ 开放平台). Follow the official page to prepare the AppID and AppSecret; the client does not require a callback URL or a separate server. Then enter the bot details and choose a persona.
- Under Pair first with (the actual label is 先绑定到), the default is your QQ private chat; you can choose one QQ group instead. This only selects which pairing instruction to prepare first; it does not complete the pairing, and you can add the other option later.
- Check the details and select Save and connect QQ (保存并连接 QQ). The client saves the settings, then attempts to connect.
Check the result: The playbook appears in the list with a connected status. If it does not connect, follow the page prompt. If it is paused or disconnects later, open the playbook and select Connect QQ (连接 QQ).
Pair your QQ account
- Confirm QQ is connected. If the page asks you to save credentials or edit settings, follow the prompt and select Connect QQ (连接 QQ) to retry.
- After connection, the client prepares the pairing instruction for the option you selected during setup. If a current private instruction is already displayed, select Copy instruction (复制指令). If not, select Generate pairing code (生成配对码); to replace an existing code, select Regenerate pairing code (重新生成配对码). Send the full command in a private chat between your own QQ account and the bot. Each code is different. Do not share it; generate a new one if it expires.
- Check the result: The page shows your QQ account as paired. Send a simple message from that account and confirm a reply.
If QQ is connected but not paired, the bot will not answer your private messages. A successful model check proves the model can be called; it does not verify QQ delivery.
Optional: pair a group
Each playbook can pair with one group. Enable group messaging in the QQ platform and add the bot to the target group. If the bot is in sandbox mode, add the target group to its test scope first. Open the QQ group chat (QQ 群聊天) card: select Connect and prepare pairing instruction (连接并准备绑定指令) when disconnected; when connected with no valid instruction displayed, select Prepare pairing instruction (准备绑定指令). If a current instruction is already shown, select Copy instruction (复制指令); to replace an expired code, select Regenerate group pairing code (重新生成群配对码). Send the full command in the target group with an actual @mention. Private-chat pairing does not grant group access.
New playbooks allow every member of the paired group to interact by @mention by default. You can restrict access to paired members; existing playbooks keep their saved permission. The group has its own request limit and is also subject to the playbook's overall limit. A request count is not a price; model charges follow the selected model. Saving a group permission change pauses QQ, so reconnect manually.
Check the result: The page shows the group as paired, and an actual @mention in that group receives a reply. Ordinary group messages do not trigger the bot.
Group chat handles text only. Each member has separate temporary context, which clears when QQ is paused, the client exits, or it restarts. Group chat does not read private-chat memory. Video summaries are available only in a paired QQ private chat.
Limits, pausing, and memory
- Review and adjust request limits in the playbook or group settings. Changing a limit does not reconnect a paused playbook.
- Select Pause (暂停) in the playbook connection bar to stop both private and group replies. To resume, select Connect QQ (连接 QQ) yourself; a paused playbook will not reconnect on its own.
- Persistent memory is off by default. Recent chats, companion memories, and fixed memories can be managed separately and are stored in local account data, not synced to the cloud. Enabling companion memory asks the model to organize chat details and may add model charges. Group chat does not read private-chat memory.
- Changing a memory switch, clearing memory, or saving a group permission change pauses QQ. After confirming the change, select Connect QQ (连接 QQ) to continue.
If something goes wrong
- Save and connect is unavailable: Check that a chat model is selected. If no model is available, add or enable a chat configuration in Models. Then follow the page prompts to enter and securely save the bot credentials.
- Connected, but no reply: Check the private pairing, request limits, and playbook status. For groups, also check the group pairing and actual @mention.
- No group reply: Check member permissions. In paired-members-only mode, other group members cannot trigger replies.
- The playbook shows paused after a change: This is expected. Review the change and reconnect manually; repeated saves are unnecessary.
- Need to verify a saved change: Reopen the playbook from the list and inspect its current status. Confirm the target before deleting or clearing anything. Do not clear app data to troubleshoot.
