Desktop help and troubleshooting
When something goes wrong, start with the status and instructions on the current page. Do not clear app data while troubleshooting, and avoid repeating a save or delete action whose result may already be complete.
Common questions
Why does sign-in ask me to verify a phone number?
Some accounts or service deployments require an additional account-protection check. If the client shows phone verification, follow the code instructions and choose Verify phone and continue to enter the main app. If no check appears, you do not need to find a separate binding step. If a code cannot be sent, note the error and time and use the page's help option or the support contact below. Do not clear app data and register again to troubleshoot it.
What keeps working after I close the client?
Closing the window may leave the app running in the background. Fully quitting Lumoswitch stops its local gateway and Big Fish QQ connection, so requests that depend on them cannot continue. An Agent configured to connect directly to a provider, or an application calling the cloud API directly, does not require the desktop app to stay open; its credentials and model service must still be available. Computer sleep also affects connections running on that computer. Check their status after waking it; a deliberately paused Big Fish still needs you to connect it manually.
What follows my account to another computer?
Online model configurations and other account data sync within the scope provided by the service. On-device model connections, playbook settings and memory, pet appearances and positions remain on the original computer; signing in elsewhere does not move them automatically. Check native Agent configuration, installed Skills and the local MCP library separately on the new computer. Account sync is not a backup of the whole computer. Keep the original data while setting up the new device.
Why can I not find a button from the guide?
Check the client version in Settings → About, then confirm the page, operating system and service deployment described by the guide. Features arrive in stages, and online areas such as Community also depend on the site's availability. Check the official download page for a suitable version and update while retaining app data. If an entry is still missing, contact support with the version and a screenshot. Do not force an unavailable feature through old manual setup commands.
Model requests fail
- For an online model, confirm the client can reach the online service. For a local model, make sure its service is running and its local endpoint is reachable; local inference itself does not require internet. Then check the selected connection, Access Key, and model settings.
- If the page offers Check model, run it again, then try a short request without sensitive content.
- If it still fails, note the error, client version, and operating system, then contact support.
Check the result: The model check succeeds and a short request returns the expected reply. A successful model check does not verify a third-party Agent, QQ, or another external service.
Settings saved, but the connection needs attention
Saving settings and connecting are separate steps. Return to the relevant page, check its connection status, and follow any prompt to add credentials, select a model, or choose Connect. If the status is paused, review the settings and resume manually; a deliberate pause will not reconnect automatically.
Check the result: The status clearly shows connected, and a small request or message succeeds in the destination service. Saved alone does not mean connected.
Updates, recovery, and local data
A normal client update preserves local client data on the same computer, such as playbook and pet settings. This local recovery is not cloud sync. Account-synced items such as online model configurations follow their own page guidance. Keep app data when updating.
If the client says it is recovering, wait for recovery to finish and reopen the relevant page to check its current status. If an action is pending confirmation or says it may have taken effect, do not repeat save, delete, or clear. Leave the page, reopen it, and inspect the current contents before deciding what to do. If recovery still fails or data appears damaged, stop editing and contact support.
Check the result: Reopening the page shows the expected settings and a clear status. Do not delete app data to troubleshoot; local recovery does not guarantee restoration of content you deliberately deleted or cleared.
Contact support
Open Settings → About for the client version and Contact support, or visit Lumoswitch Support. Include the client version, operating system, time of the issue, reproduction steps and error message. Review screenshots and logs before sharing: redact Access Keys, QQ bot secrets, personal messages and account identifiers, but keep the client version visible for diagnosis. Do not post credentials, full chat histories or unredacted logs publicly.
